FDA grants CLIA waiver to BD Veritor System

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has granted a 510(k) and clinical laboratory improvement amendments (CLIA) waiver clearance to Becton, Dickinson and Company's (BD) Veritor System.

The BD Veritor System utlizes the company's novel Nano Detection Particle and Adaptive Read Technology to rapidly detect Flu A+B.

The BD Veritor System offers a convenient workflow and requires very little sample preparation, no sample incubation required prior to running the test and takes ten-minute period to run and read instrument for ten seconds thus providing final results on an easy to read digital display.
